Full Description: (Peterborough, Ontario, Canada) — HEALTHPOINT Canada, a division of HEALTHPOINT Ltd., a Texas-based market leader in tissue management, dermatology, and infection prevention products, has begun marketing COOK Biotech Incorporated’s patented wound matrix product, Oasis, in Canada through a distribution partnership with Trudell Medical Marketing Limited, a London, Ontario-based supplier of specialty medical products.
Based on COOK’s breakthrough Small Intestinal Submucosa, or SIS Technology, Oasis is a natural, extracellular matrix used to manage a variety of wounds by providing an environment that allows the body to heal itself.
HEALTHPOINT Ltd. signed an exclusive, worldwide agreement with COOK Biotech Incorporated earlier this year. The term of the agreement is 20 years, and HEALTHPOINT will have the option to extend the term.
HEALTHPOINT initiated marketing Oasis in the U.S. last spring and is now extending marketing efforts into Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
Oasis can be used in the management of partial and full-thickness skin loss injuries. The SIS Technology, on which Oasis is based, is a new biomaterial that provides a supportive environment to allow a patient’s body to rebuild and repair damaged tissue.
For information on Oasis distribution in Canada, contact Trudell Medical Marketing Limited at 1-800-265-5494.
HEALTHPOINT is a DFB Pharmaceuticals, Inc. affiliate company. HEALTHPOINT has headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, with an additional office in Canada. Visit HEALTHPOINT’s web site at www.healthpoint.com.
COOK Biotech Incorporated, located in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA, was established in 1995 to research, develop and manufacture products based on extracellular matrix (ECM) Technology. COOK Biotech is actively developing ECM and scaffold-based biomaterials for numerous medical purposes.
