Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (CMMT)

The Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (CMMT) is an innovative and unique partnership (including government, university, hospital and industry) dedicated to the conduct of advanced research using novel approaches in molecular and cell biology and genetics, to obtain fundamental advances in knowledge. The CMMT is a core centre of the B.C. Research Institute for Child and Family Health and will ultimately employ approximately 120 scientists and technicians. Areas of research emphasis will include, but is not limited to: human molecular genetics; cellular biochemistry; transgenic models and molecular physiology; human genetic therapies.
